Do you feel unlovable?

Lately, I have been walking through the Armor of God by Priscilla Shirer. This was my second time doing this study and it is so amazing how God presents different truths and things to you from the same words. Anyone else know what I mean?

Well, I just finished the study last week and there is one thing that truly stuck out to me. The act of using the sword of the Spirit to pierce temptations and lies of the evil one. We see this done in Scriptures, as Jesus himself quotes Scriptures out in the wilderness and while he was being tempted by the evil one.

This is why, memorising Scripture is so important. Hiding truth away in your heart and meditating on God's Word, allows you to use the Word of God to battle the enemy.  In my Armor of God bible study, Priscilla states, that the Sword  is our only "offensive" weapon seen in the armor of God. In Hebrews 4:12, we see that the Word of God is like at a double -edged sword that can pierce through the heart and the soul.

So, over the next couple weeks, I wanted to talk about some of the lies we listen to most as mothers. You know the ones that we hear over and over again, as we parent our kids. Or the lies we hear as a wife. Or even as a woman.

The first one that I want to look at is the lie: I am unlovable and nobody loves me.

I want you to be able to start using truth of God's Word to expel the lie. I want us to be able to use the Word of God to see and hear truth, that we are loved.  Let's look at some verses, that tell us these truths. Then when we hear the lies come that we are not loved, speak them aloud,

Ephesians 6: 4-5, tells me that "In LOVE, he predestined us for adoption as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of His will. You see "in love" he has adopted you as a daughter and calls you daughter.

In Galatians 2:20, it states that " I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh by faith in the Son of God, who LOVED me and gave himself for me." Jesus loved you and me so much, he gave up His Son for us.

Jeremiah 31:3  says, "... I have LOVED you with an everlasting love therefore I have continued my faithfulness to you. "

The famous verse, John 3:16  states, " For God so LOVED the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him, will not perish but have eternal life." You see God loves the world, not just you and me, but every human being that is and will be created. He loves us with an never ending love that He would give up His only Son to save us from death and sin, and to rescue us from the pits of hell.

We see in John 15:12-13  that His greatest command asks us to  " ...  love one another as I have LOVED you." He knew that nothing could compare to His love for us, so this is the example He gives us to love each other.  Then Jesus goes on to state that  "Greater LOVE has no one than this that someone lay down His life for his friends." Here Jesus is telling us again, that He came to save us, His people, His beloved children, that He was willing to be obedient and give His own life for us.

Another way in which we see God's love, is in Hebrews 12:6,  "For the Lord disciplines the one He LOVES, and chastises every son who He receives." You see the Lord loves us a like his own, He rebukes us and corrects us to keep us from hurting ourselves at times, and point us in the right direction. Just like we would our own children.

In the Psalms, we see the "steadfast love" of the Lord, repeated over and over.

So, how is it that we feel unloved, when the God who created everything on earth, loves us so much. Well, because the evil one is cunning and skillful in his temptations. He twists the truth into a lie, "does God really love you"? Is one I have heard often. "How could God love you, you mess up time and time again?"  These cunning questions, start a downwards spiral into believing the question and listening to the lie that Satan whispers in my ear at times. He knows exactly when to play his cards, doesn't he? He is, after all a great poker player.

If you are struggling with the lie that you are unlovable today, I want to encourage you to use these truths that are found in the Word of God, to fight the lie. If you don't believe it they repeat one of the verses above over and over again, because let me tell you the name of Jesus and His Word is stronger than you might think. It is a powerful offensive tool, when you feel you have nothing left to fight!

So take courage my sisters! Because if we believe that Christ is our Lord and Savior, then His Words can not lie - You are LOVED! You are LOVABLE! You are Wanted! You are a Daughter to the throne that is never ending, and God in all His glory and splendor, see's YOU and wanted YOU!
