The Joy of the Lord

"The Joy of the Lord is my strength"... Nehemiah 8:10

This is the verse that keeps coming to mind as I think of the word "JoY".

It has been a rough week between working all day Wednesday then being up all night with sick kids. Yes, I kid you not the stomach bug has hit our house and it is not joyous! The crazy thing and almost blessed thing is that it hit my kids 4 hours apart. I literally had finished cleaning up on of them after multiple bouts of grossness and put them down to attempt to sleep then the next child started. I thought I myself was in the clear until I was setting up for a women's church event and my stomach starting making knots, then it took me down. I mean when mom is sick the saying is true, your house goes crazy! Thankful for my husband who stepped up and took charge of the kids and house while I was sick.

Yes, I know that my sickness was temporary and not long this week but this verse kept coming to mind as my heart complained about all the things I needed to get done and didn't have the energy. The Lord gently reminded me that He was in control and that this is my temporary home where sickness is present. Praise the Lord, that we will be able to be healthy, perfect, and sinless in heaven.

So this week as I was given the word "JOY" all I keep singing and hearing is the phrase from Nehemiah 8:10, "the Joy of the Lord". What are some things that come to mind that make you JOYFUL?
