I will supply all your needs

Good morning friends,

I just wanted to say Merry Christmas to everyone. As the week of Christmas draws upon us I keep reflecting on this...

Isaiah 9:6, "For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty GOD, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace."

This verse says so much in so little of words! What really has stuck out to me in this verse are the two names of Jesus: Mighty God & Everlasting Father! Over the last week God has shown how great He is to Jason and I. He has shown us that he will meet our every need, even when we think we don't need his help because of this sin called PRIDE, the Lord comes along with all his mercy, grace and love and shows us yes you do need my help, just let me show you. Over the last week Jason and I have had a lot on our plates with it being budget season at Jason's work and him working more hours, the Christmas season which brings stress on us (I have no idea why??), and once again Toby getting his 4th round of chemo but receiving both of the drugs this week (usually making him little more blah then just the one). Needless to say it has been quite a week but God is good, my family was up to help out over a long weekend from baking, to cleaning house and helping me wrap presents. My in-laws have been wonderful as well with Grandma watching Tobster twice a week and taken the burden of finding babycare for our little man while he is undergoing chemo. This truly is a blessing, first and foremost he gets to spend time with grandma and secondly he has avoided many germs and illnesses being past around the daycare which truly is a blessing with his chemo treatments!

Another thing that really has hit home with me and made me a little emotional is the financial needs that God has met for us! Jason and I are a little stubborn and both grew up in hardworking families where you worked to meet your families needs but God has shown us that he too can meet our needs. We have been blessed by friends and family who have shown their love and have blessed us with money to help pay for Toby's upcoming bills (many we have yet to receive).{ Note: This is not a plug for me asking for money!!! } I have been brought to tears many times this week opening up cards and seeing a check with them, God truly is a Mighty God as he has touched those to do this for us! He has shown his love and kindness to us once again taking us off of our high horse of pride and showing us, that he is in control! So thank you, you guys know who you are. Philippians 4:19 " And my God will supply every need of your according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."

God is so GOOD, even in the trial we truly have seen his face and Mighty hand at work. He has been a Father one that Jason and I truly are leaning on to walk us through this season! Remember one thing this holiday season, that it truly isn't about the presents, holiday meals, and the hustle and bustle but is about our King who came down from his throne to a stinky stable to be born as a child and bring us the gift of  LOVE by offering himself for us! Merry Christmas and may God show you his love this week!

  1. Beautifully written Lindsey - I love reading your blog & seeing how God's been faithful to you through this season of life. I love you!

  2. God will ALWAYS provide! You have a way with words and have me reflecting on the true meaning of Christmas. My goal this season was to make sure I taught Luke that. It went well when we brought out his own nativity scene but sadly I don't think I have been as focused on that this week with all of the hustle and bustle of Christmas shopping. Thank you for the reminder! And, the pictures keep getting better! Love you! Merry Christmas!
